Job Title: Information Technology Specialist

Position Summary
The Information Technology Specialist is responsible for providing technical support, maintaining IT systems, implementing new technology initiatives, and supporting the development and integration of AI-based solutions to improve workflow and efficiency. This role includes overseeing network security, supporting end users, deploying hardware/software, and enhancing agency operations through modern technology tools.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the first point of contact for IT support issues via phone, email, and in-person requests.
Provide technical support for desktop computers, laptops, printers, peripherals, telephones, and network connectivity.
Create and manage network user accounts and ensure proper access and permissions.
Troubleshoot software and hardware issues, resolve error messages, clear printer malfunctions, and replace consumables as needed.
Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, applications, and wireless networking equipment.
Train employees on new software, systems, and technology processes.
Administer Microsoft 365 and associated productivity applications.
Implement and support AI-driven tools and automation solutions to improve workflow, reporting, security monitoring, and customer service.
Assist in the development and implementation of new technology initiatives including:
Public kiosk information systems.
Online rent collection solutions.
Payroll automation enhancements.
Administer and maintain network and data security, including firewall management, antivirus protection, and email security systems.
Strengthen cybersecurity posture by using encryption, secure data storage, and proactive monitoring practices.
Assist users in identifying and reporting phishing and other security risks; promote cybersecurity awareness.
Identify trends in support requests and develop how-to documentation and training materials to increase user independence and efficiency.
Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in computer science or a related field required.
Minimum of four (4) years of IT experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Proven experience with Microsoft 365 administration.
Experience with AI tools, automation platforms, machine learning based workflows, or AI-assisted business applications.
Strong understanding of network administration and data security best practices.
Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver s License.
