Central Maintenance Department
We are seeking a skilled and licensed Journeyman Electrician to perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and inspection of electrical systems and equipment throughout the facilities and properties. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of electrical codes, safety procedures, and preventive maintenance practices while ensuring reliable and efficient operation of electrical systems.
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on residential, commercial, and facility electrical systems.
Diagnose electrical problems and determine appropriate repair solutions.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and electrical diagrams.
Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and federal electrical codes and safety regulations.
Inspect electrical components and systems to identify hazards, defects, or required repairs.
Maintain electrical panels, circuit breakers, transformers, lighting systems, and related equipment.
Respond to emergency maintenance calls and perform urgent repairs as needed.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
Coordinate with maintenance staff, contractors, and supervisors on facility improvement projects.
Follow all workplace safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
High School Diploma or GED required.
Specialized vocational training in the electrical trade preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
Valid Journeyman Electrician License required.
Valid Florida Driver s License with an acceptable driving record.
Must be insurable under the organization's vehicle insurance requirements.
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Thorough knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and industry standards.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex electrical issues.
Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.
Ability to safely operate electrical tools, testing equipment, and maintenance machinery.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials.
Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
