Position Title: Assistant Director of Housing

Salary: $29.01 per hour

Position Overview:
The Assistant Director of Housing will support the Director in the management and operations of housing programs and services. This position is responsible for assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of initiatives to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of housing solutions to individuals and families within the community. The ideal candidate will have experience in housing administration, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to providing quality housing services.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Director in overseeing daily operations of housing programs, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Supervise and provide guidance to housing staff, including training, performance evaluations, and development opportunities.
Coordinate the intake, eligibility determination, and placement processes for housing applicants.
Maintain and update housing databases, ensuring accurate and timely information is recorded.
Assist in budget preparation, monitoring, and financial reporting for housing programs.
Participate in policy development and program improvement initiatives.
Prepare reports, memos, and other documentation as needed for management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
Conduct outreach and communication efforts to ensure community awareness of available housing services and programs.
Resolve tenant concerns and disputes, escalating issues to the Director when necessary.
Collaborate with other local agencies and organizations to support community housing needs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Public Administration, Social Work, Urban Planning, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in housing, property management, or social services.
Strong understanding of housing regulations, compliance requirements, and fair housing laws.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to manage and lead a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Ability to solve problems creatively and manage multiple priorities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and housing management software.
Knowledge of local housing resources and community organizations in the Orlando area is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in an office environment, including prolonged periods of sitting, typing, and using office equipment.
Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
Occasional travel within the Orlando area may be required.
Work Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Occasional evening or weekend work as required.
