Job Title: Assistant Purchasing Manager

Pay Rate: Approximately $28.85

Position Summary:
The Assistant Purchasing Manager supports the Purchasing Manager in overseeing procurement operations, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This role assists with supplier management, purchase order processing, inventory coordination, and compliance with company policies to support operational efficiency and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Purchasing Manager in planning, coordinating, and supervising purchasing activities
Prepare, review, and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies
Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, delivery schedules, and order discrepancies
Support supplier selection, evaluation, and performance monitoring
Track inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to prevent shortages or overstock
Analyze purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
Assists in warehousing and inventory control
Issue purchase orders
Maintain file systems for procurement documents
Assist with contract negotiations and supplier agreements as directed
Ensure compliance with internal controls, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
Resolve procurement-related issues and escalate complex matters to the Purchasing Manager
Maintain accurate purchasing records, reports, and documentation
Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred)
2 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations
Strong understanding of purchasing processes and vendor management
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Strong analytical and organizational abilities
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
