Job Position: Accounting Clerk
Location: Orlando, 32826
Pay Rate: $19.00 - $20.50
Shift: 1st 8am - 5pm
The Accounting Clerk is a crucial support position within the Accounting Department, tasked with performing various duties to maintain accurate and efficient financial records. Strong multitasking and effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for success. The Accounting Clerk is integral to the smooth functioning of the accounting department and the organization's overall financial well-being
Verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records
Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers, and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable & receivable)
Enter data into a computer system using defined computer programs
Compile data and prepare a variety of reports/spreadsheets
Reconciliation of internal company records and external vendors or customers
Daily filing/scanning of accounting documents
Support the finance department with projects to include quarterly and year-end audits.
Education and Experience
Education: High School diploma or equivalent with a demonstrable ability to perform required duties
Experience: Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Undergraduate degree in a business-related area of study
Prior Accounting experience
Experience with accounting software such as Expandable or Salesforce
Understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance requirements
Proficiency in using spreadsheets and accounting software to process business transactions
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with internal teams and external vendors/customers
Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial records and reports
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Capacity to handle confidential information responsibly
Adaptability to learn new software and processes quickly
Problem-solving skills to resolve discrepancies and issues in financial records
Flexibility to assist with special projects and support audits as needed
Dependability and reliability in meeting deadlines and commitments
