Position Summary:
The Waiting List Manager is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of housing program waiting lists, including Public Housing and Housing Choice Voucher programs. This role ensures timely updates, applicant communication, and adherence to HUD policies and procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and knowledgeable in affordable housing programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain waiting lists for various housing programs, ensuring data is up-to-date and compliant.
Oversee the intake, processing, and updating of applications.
Communicate with applicants regarding status updates, eligibility requirements, and documentation needs.
Ensure waiting list policies are consistently followed and updated as required by HUD regulations.
Generate reports related to waiting list status, demographics, and applicant trends.
Collaborate with occupancy specialists and case managers to fill vacancies efficiently.
Conduct audits and reconciliations of applicant records.
Respond to inquiries and resolve applicant concerns or discrepancies.
Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with Fair Housing laws.
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Public Administration, Social Services, Business, or related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in housing programs, social services, or data management preferred.
Strong knowledge of HUD regulations and affordable housing policies a plus.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and housing database systems (e.g., Yardi, Emphesys).
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Working Conditions:
Office environment with some interaction with the public.
Occasional travel within the city may be required.
