Job Title: HUD/ASH Coordinator

Location: Orlando, FL
Salary: $27.84 per hour
Employment Type: Full-Time
Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree required
Experience: Relevant experience in HUD/ASH coordination preferred

Position Overview:

The HUD/ASH Coordinator plays a key role in managing and coordinating Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Assisted Housing programs. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, administering housing assistance programs, and providing support to residents and applicants.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HUD regulations, experience working with diverse populations, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Administration: Assist in the implementation and management of HUD-assisted housing programs, including the Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8) and Public Housing Program.

  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with HUD regulations, policies, and procedures; prepare and submit required reports to HUD and other stakeholders.

  • Resident Services: Provide direct assistance to program participants, including helping with applications, eligibility determination, and resolving tenant-related issues.

  • Coordination & Collaboration: Work closely with other departments and external partners (e.g., social services, legal, etc.) to support residents and improve housing outcomes.

  • Case Management: Maintain accurate case files, conduct annual recertifications, and assist with inspections of housing units for compliance with HUD standards.

  • Training & Development: Train staff and provide guidance on HUD rules and regulations as they apply to the housing programs.

  • Program Improvements: Suggest and implement improvements to housing programs, resident services, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working in housing assistance, social services, or a related field, with direct experience managing HUD-assisted housing programs preferred.

  • Knowledge & Skills:

    • In-depth knowledge of HUD regulations, policies, and procedures.

    • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

    • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

    • Familiarity with Fair Housing laws and other relevant housing-related regulations.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Other Requirements:

    • Must pass a criminal background check.

    • Valid driver s license and reliable transportation may be required.

Working Conditions:

  • Occasional travel to field locations or partner agencies for inspections or meetings.
